Angel's Garden

In the Ides of March
a door opens
to behold to mankind
a beautiful sight.

An Angel's Garden,
bathed in sunlight
and wreathed in golden flowers
that capture the purity of the still air
Honeydew drips from the moist moss
on which the winged and graceful creatures watch
As he, man, from water dotted leaves
quenches his greedy, craving thirst
and now
cannot leave
not ever
never
trapped
until the Ides of March the following year
when the door opens
once more
and the next man is greeted by
the winged
creatures
one more
than the year before.

Goodbye

Why must I go on
when I do not wish to?
People are telling me I've a family
a life to lead
Isn't it my choice
if I wish to leave?
They want me to stay
for selfish reasons only
because it would hurt them
if I were gone
Well,
I'm flattered, really
but
I have no intent on
staying in such a place
where neighbors are vain
and family greedy
I wish to go to a quieter place
where I may be
alone.

These are a couple poems I wrote the other day... some are funny, some not so much. Because if you couldn't guess, that last one was about wanting to commit suicide. Not that I'm suicidal. Quite the opposite. I pride myself in being the cheeriest of my friends. But I do understand why it is someone's choice.
If someone thinks they care about someone, and demand that they stay, they don't love them at all if staying will hurt that person. That is a selfish reason, because who would it hurt if the person died? It would hurt them, not the person who actually wanted to leave.

Not that I think people should be ungrateful for the life they are given. However, sometimes the life you are given isn't worth living in the first place.

Never mind what I said there. I love that friend, and am not really all that angry. Besides, who can be pissed off when listening to Keane? Specifically Can't Stop Now?

Anyhow, I'm not mad anymore.....
